Struggling to regulate emotions impacts mental health and family well-being
What is the Curious Neuron approach to parenting?
1. Emotional awareness.
Noticing moments we could have said something differently, thought something different or acted differently is an important aspect of awareness.
2. Responding rather than reacting.
Many parents will yell at their child then instantly feel guilty about it. Training ourselves to pause can allow us to respond to our kids (partners, coworkers, friends etc) rather than react.
3. Feeling confident.Â
You don’t need to keep searching for parenting strategies when you learn about emotions, behaviour, relationships and well-being based on recent studies.
4. Becoming strong, resilient leaders.Â
All leadership skills apply to parents too. At Curious Neuron, not only do we cover evidence-based insights about parental well-being, we also dive into leadership skills to help parents with conflict resolution, effective communication skills and team building skills that allow us to support our children and family.
“Curious Neuron has reminded me/allowed me to believe that my well-being is also very important. It has helped me feel seen and not alone. Thank you!”

Our impact
“Provided so much information about why parenting is hard, what I can do about it, and given directions and steps to help me manage my anger/frustration/overwhelm. I wish I would have found it earlier in my parenting journey!”

“Curious Neuron has had a huge impact on my parenting and my personal mental health. As someone with an MA I know the value of good, peer reviewed information, but I don't have the time or access to do my own research. Having a reliable source of current research, broken down for easy consumption (but always providing references to full articles) has alleviated a lot of the stress and doubt from my parenting style.”

“I’m not a professional but being a retired pharmacist I do enjoy the science and it gives me the confidence to be in a better place mentally as a parent.”
