Host: Cindy Hovington, Ph.D.
Co-host: Marion Van Horn, Ph.D.
Guest: Today, we are interviewing our host!
Cindy Hovington is the founder of Curious Neuron, a parenting resource that is backed by science. Her mission is to summarize scientific research that is relevant to parenting and child development. Curious Neuron is based on 3 pillars to thrive as a parent and in turn, help our children thrive. First, we need to nurture ourselves, then our children and lastly, we need to nurture each other. She is the host of the Curious Neuron podcast, which recently received sponsorship from the Tanenbaum Open Science Institute at The Neuro. The Neuro is the first health sciences institution in the world to commit to Open Science, an approach to research that ensures scientific knowledge is shared widely and transparently.
Summary
We are re-launching the Curious Neuron Podcast! New episodes every Friday! We will keep them short and sweet because we know you are short on time. We will return our focus to summarizing research focused on parenting and child development.
I have never taken the time to chat about myself and how Curious Neuron was created. Today, my new co-host, Marion Van Horn, interviews me! We chat about Curious Neuron’s humble beginnings and my research during my doctorate degree.
Thank you to the Tanenbaum Open Science Institute at The Neuro for sponsoring the Curious Neuron Podcast.

Thanks for sharing Cindy! In 2014 started a (now very successful) online music teaching business while being a single-parent / homeschooling mom so this was especially interesting for me! One of the great things about working for yourself is that you can schedule your work when your kids are sleeping etc, to be fully present with them and work uninterrupted! My boys are now 17 and 21! ~Lisa in Nova Scotia (HS Goodness)
